I like seeing the emergent spaces that are formed by bringing the repetitive units together. It would be fun to see what happens if you twist, skew or rotate the elements.
The contrast between smooth and textured is very nice. What happens when one becomes translucent and matte? You can give a flat material a glow : Surface Styles > Reflectivity: Matte > Glow.
It would also be interesting to adjust it so that something different happens at the end conditions.
Can you place this into a setting such as a furniture showroom?
